TV report – Designer Furniture from Classic Cars

Designer Martin Schlund from Emmendingen builds furniture from old cars

How old cars are turned into unique designer furniture

Martin Schlund builds new designer furniture from old cars. He turns an old Beetle into a unique double bed. A vintage Mercedes becomes an original desk. Whether sofa, armchair, bar or table – anything is possible. Even additional equipment, such as illuminated indicators, can be turned into something special. »Every car part is too good to end up in the scrapyard,« says the car enthusiast.

Film portrait for euromaxx at Deutsche Welle

Our film team was allowed to follow some of his work steps in his workshop in Emmendingen and were truly amazed. A Mercedes from the 70s is turned into a classy desk. The fascinating thing: Martin Schlund has turned his enthusiasm for craftsmanship and his love of beautiful old cars into his profession and is now very successful with it. He even ships his furniture as far away as Australia!
